Discussion:
At least 3 lesbians on Survivor: Vanuatu

From the last two challenges, it would seem that at least 3 women on
Survivor: Vanuatu are lesbians. I think they are Ami, Leann, & Scout.
Does anyone know if this is true? Why else wouldn't Ami or Leann want
to see family instead?

Well, using your 'logic', then Julie is a lesbian. Her loved one was a
friend, not family member. Chris is a lesbian, his loved one was his
girlfriend/fiance, not yet a family member.

I wasn't aware that being visited by friends rather than family made one a
lesbian, but I guess we all learn things every day, right?

Once again, who goes to the 'family' challenge is often as much a
matter of which family member has a current passport and which
doesn't. It was said at the time that the main reason Big Tom's son
rather than wife visited him in season 3 was that son had a current
passport while his wife couldn't get one in time to go.

Don't know if that's true but that is what they said at the time.

It is most definitely not true. In the USA, if you want
to get a passport you can do so very quickly. I
am quite sure that CBS would have flown Tom's
wife to San Fransisco and got her the passport
in less than 48 hours if she had really wanted to go.

yeah you can get a passport quick like that IF you have all your
documentation. I doubt it that the hillbilly broad Tom was married to
even had a birth certificate which you need to get a passport.

Then the US Government processes passport applications far faster than
the Canadian government does - as I do indeed know from personal
experience.

As for the other I was simply passing on something I read on one of
the spoiler boards back in season 3. Obviously I should have known
better.

Incorrect thread, this is the one where OP claimed that LeAnn is a lesbian
because she had a friend rather than a family member visit. You're looking
for the one where the reasons friends rather than family members may visit
are discussed.

FWIW, in that thread, you are correct. Even with the resources of a
network (and remember, this is a network that isn't exactly on good terms
with the government at the moment) behind you, you're not going to get a
passport without supporting documents. These include not just driver's
license but medical/immunization records as well as a background check. If
you go in WITH these, you MAY get a passport within 48 hours. Go in
without them and you get nothing.

Most people have a driver's license and birth
certificate. A network certainly has the
resources to get you a few shots and run
a background check on you. It really is
not hard to get a passport fast if you need
to get it fast. The big problem is that most
people don't have the extra cash/desire to fly
to San Fransisco and stand in line all day
just to get it done..

...and all of this claim of inability due to time is
REALLY silly since they had months to prepare,
not hours.

You CAN get a passport renewal in 48 hours or so, but it cost a lot of extra
bucks, including overnight shipping. I know, it happened to me. I'm not so
sure about a NEW passport, however. As far as Leann's friend coming instead
of, say, her father and Julie having a guy friend------the survivors may have
an inkling that their loved one may perform a stunt and therefore, chose
someone that may help them win. Leann's Dad might not be up to the travel
and with his kidney transplant, might not be the best choice.

Gee, do you think the fact that Ami referred to Chrissy as her
GIRLFRIEND might be a clue?
